One of Lake Tahoe’s original family-owned resorts, this Greek-inspired spot offers only suites for its guests. It’s comfortable, authentic and rich in Old Tahoe tradition, making it a favorite for family gatherings, intimate weddings or romantic getaways. Along with its 32 lakeview and lakefront studio suites, it also offers cozy cabins, glamping tents and lakeshore residences with 4 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. Crown Motel & Family Resort

This lakefront motel is a family-friendly resort with a private sandy beach and private pools. Many of the rooms offer lakefront views, and some have small kitchenettes. The resort is positioned conveniently next to abundant entertainment options with shopping, restaurants and gaming all in Kings Beach.

Sunnyside Restaurant & Lodge

Boasting one of the best spots along the shore, this resort offers 23 mountain-inspired rooms with goose-down pillows, comforters, and private patios and decks. All guests can enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast and afternoon tea with lake views. There are also two restaurants, The Lakeside Dining Room and The Mountain Grill. Together, they share Tahoe’s largest lakefront deck and have been considered the heart of West Shore’s social scene for over 25 years.

The Inn at Boatworks

Centrally located in Tahoe City, staying at The Inn at Boatworks makes it easy to go for a stroll through the town to explore an array of shops and restaurants. Cozy rooms with a modern vibe make this spot a perfect gateway to your mountain adventures. There are spacious king suites with lakeside views and family suites with extra privacy. They have several theme rooms, too, with heart-shaped tubs, a throwback from their Fantasy Inn roots.

Leaning to the luxe side, this boutique hotel offers 24 well-appointed rooms at a reasonable price. It’s just a short 5-minute walk to the lake and they serve a daily continental breakfast in the lobby. They also offer happy hour specials from 4 – 6 pm with homemade soups and stews, grilled cheese sandwiches and local craft brews. With its prime location in Tahoe City, it’s also only a few steps away from some of the best dining options in Lake Tahoe – no need to drive to dinner!

This charming spot consists of 19 old Tahoe-style cottages, each with its own style. Originally the sawmill and labor camp of the Brockway Lumber Company, the property was converted to vacation cottages in 1925 and updated with modern conveniences. It’s right across the street from the lake and is about as authentic as you can get in Lake Tahoe.
