Alpine Meadows

At the top of a winding access road just a few miles from Tahoe City sits a world of spirited and unpretentious big mountain haunt for skiers and riders. Offering a solid balance of beginner through expert terrain, some of Alpine Meadows’ best aspects include spectacular views of the Lake, tons of bowl skiing, and long-time locals as staff. Head to the Ice Bar on the backside of the mountain at any time of day to join fellow riders for a beer, a dose of sun and the view of Ward Peak from a plastic lawn chair.
 
Terrain: 2,000 acres-25% Beginner; 40% Intermediate; 35% Advanced; 100+ trails. Snowmaking on 11 of 13 lifts.
 
Lifts: 1 high-speed 6 passenger chair, 2 high-speed quads, 3 triples, 5 doubles, 2 surface.
 
Elevations: Summit 8,637'; Base 6,835'; Vertical Drop 1,800'; Longest Run: 2.5 miles.
 
Snow Sport Schools: Ski and Snowboard instruction and specialty clinics for adults and children. Tahoe Adaptive Ski school for people with mental and physical disabilities.
 
Amenities: Rental and repair shop, day lodge with large sun deck, bar, restaurant, cocktail lounge, cafeteria, on-mountain snack bars, sport shop, boulangerie, and mid-mountain deli.
 
Shuttle: Free daily North and West Shore bus.
